PH Army, Australian Defense Force Wrap Up Cyber Warfare Simulation Training

July 1, 2025 | Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City — The Philippine Army and the Australian Defense Force (ADF) officially concluded the six-week Cyber Warfare simulation training dubbed as the “Joint Defense Forward Training Activity” on June 26, 2025, at the Headquarters Philippine Army in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

The high-level training aimed to bolster both nations’ cyber defense capabilities through joint exercises that included malware forensics, reverse engineering of malicious software, and advanced threat intelligence sharing. These collaborative activities enabled both armies to detect, analyze, and neutralize sophisticated digital threats that are increasingly defining modern warfare.

Military officials emphasized that the simulation served as a vital platform for sharing technological expertise and operational best practices. The Australian Defense Force brought in its advanced tools and protocols to support the Philippine Army’s ongoing efforts to develop a strong cyber defense posture.

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in enhancing the Army’s readiness to confront evolving cyber threats and contributes to the strategic alliance between the Philippines and Australia,” the Army Public Affairs Office stated.

With cyberspace now recognized as a domain of conflict alongside land, sea, air, and space, the exercise demonstrates both countries’ commitment to modernizing their military capabilities and addressing the complexities of hybrid warfare.
